Samantha Lopez

Music Journalist, Creative Writer & Pop Culture Enthusiast.

Music journalist and creative writer originally from Oregon, but currently based in Austin, Texas. I have a passion for everything music-related, with a deep affinity for for indie and every genre and sub-genre within it. I love to listen, talk, read and write about music.

I have experience in writing, radio and social media management. I graduated from Oregon State University in December 2016 with a B.A. in Digital Communication Arts with an emphasis in media and society, with a minor in writing with a focus in journalism and creative writing.
While in school I was a part of many media outlets, including the university news paper as an Arts and Entertainment writer, the college radio station--first as a contributing music writer and on-air host, then as the Program Director, and as a staff writer and social media coordinator for Her Campus@Oregon State.

Currently, I am a contributing writer for Eleven PDX out of Portland, which I started in June 2015, periodically write for Chicago Innerview, and most recently was published in The Austin Chronicle. I was also a remote intern for Paste Magazine this past summer in their music department.

I am available to write band bios, album reviews, live show reviews and more. For freelance writing and social media work, please contact me at: Samantha.lopez1194@gmail.com
